Doha Bank towards Qatari Development – Building Tomorrow’s Leaders of the Banking Industry

Doha Bank were the Gold the Sponsors of the Qatar Career Fair 2011, which was recently held at the Exhibition Center in West Bay, promoting the Bank as the preferred employer for Qatari Nationals.

Keeping in line with the ambitious spirit of Qatar in building Knowledge based Economy, Doha Bank has envisioned a Qatari Development Strategy that will build a strong and quality Qatari Labor force and groom tomorrow’s Leaders of the Banking Industry.

Doha Bank has various well structured Qatari Development programs as part of the Qatarisation Strategy and more quality programs and initiatives are expected to be added in the year 2011. The following programs are currently in force.

  • Scholarship Programs for Qatari Nationals
  • Banking Trainee Program
  • Graduate Trainee Program
  • Cross Border Training Program

In addition to the above programs, Doha Bank also extends a Special Allowance (Career Enhancement Allowance) to the Qatari Staff, which is the first of its kind in Qatar, which is in addition to the Social Allowance. This Allowance is utilized for pursuing further education / additional courses to enhance one’s skill.

An Individual Career Plan, coupled with Managerial skills development, has also been conceived which targets at the development of the Qatari Staff to be future Leaders in Banking handling key responsibilities and this forms the base for an effective Succession Plan within the Bank for key positions.

The Bank is also in the process of introducing Specialized e-Learning modules as part of the On –the –Job Training for our Qatari Employees in addition to the already available specialized language, soft skills and technical training modules for our indigenous work force.

Doha Bank has a holistic and Strategic approach t the Qatari Development Programs, that will unlock the potential of the Qatari workforce and groom them into leaders not only within the Banking Industry in Qatar but beyond boundaries of Qatar as well.
