Reaffirming its strong social commitment and corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Qatar, Doha Bank, one of the largest private commercial banks in Qatar, has recently extended a cash donation to Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), a volunteering humanitarian organization recognized by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in Geneva, to support its “Heba Project” aimed at providing health care for the Syrian and Yemeni residents in Qatar.

Mr. Ahmed Al Henzab, Head of Administration & Properties, Doha Bank, handed over the cheque to Mr. Saad Shaheen Al-Kaabi, Director of Resource Mobilization Department, and Mr. Hamid Moharrar, Head of Corporate Relations at QRCS. Mr. Al Henzab highlighted the importance of supporting the array of humanitarian activities undertaken by the renowned nonprofit organization and in particular initiatives like “Heba Project”, under which Syrian and Yemeni residents can seek medical care at hospitals of Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Qatar.

“Doha Bank is pleased to assist and support the noble humanitarian efforts undertaken by QRCS, which has been working tirelessly to support a number of good causes in the Middle East and beyond. We are also proud to take part in the “Heba Project”, by addressing the medical needs of Syrian and Yemeni residents, who are in dire need of assistance and support. Our aid is part of our CSR program, launched with the aim of making a positive impact on the lives of marginalized and vulnerable groups by extending financial assistance to QRCS every year,” said Mr. Al Henzab.

“As a CSR leader, we remain committed to serving our community and addressing the pressing issues of each stakeholders, to create a more prosperous country and a better world for everyone,” he added.

Mr. Al-Kaabi expressed heartfelt thanks to Doha Bank officials for their generous and relentless contributions to QRCS’s humanitarian and charitable projects for the benefit of needy people locally and internationally. “This reflects their awareness of the causes and needs of society, as well as their firm belief in the value of partnership as a catalyst of humanitarian and social work, towards the welfare and well-being of vulnerable people around the world,” said Mr. Al-Kaabi.

He invited all individual and institutional donors in Qatar to follow suit, enabling QRCS to further promote its humanitarian and development mission of saving lives and preserving dignity.
